batch audio processing

I want to be able to drag a whole bunch of 24bit wav files onto 'something' which then creates 16 bit wavs and high quality mp3's out of them, puts them in seperate folders, and then goes away, after having called all of the files something useful.

What is it called. Does it exist.

I don't want to use a giant app. i just want a tiny cool solution.

I've tried looking for a bespoke applescript that uses iTunes, but iTunes doesn't do 24 bit.

Any suggestions? And do you guys need something like this too?

Although it doesn't fit your bill as a tiny app, I use BIAS Peak for this job regularly. I kind of figured it would be a really boring purchase, but it's probably the most genuinely useful "audio toolkit" and batch processor I've come across.

Slippy,

What specific kinds of batch processing would you like to see in Logic?

What's TurboMorph? So you mean "Turbo Synth", Digi's old "modular" sound design environment?
