Moving RTAS plugins from one Mac to another without re-installing?

Hello Everyone,

I already have a desktop on which I run HD with a ton of RTAS plugins installed. I just got a new MacBook Pro on which I will run Pro Tools LE.

I used Apple Migration Assistant to copy all of applications (and I thought, everything else) to my MacBook Pro. But most of the plugins (RTAS instruments, effects) did not copy over.

Is there any way to copy many if not all of those RTAS plugins without having to reinstall them? That would take days.

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Depends on the plugin. Some, yes, you can merely copy the plugin from the plugin folder and it will be fine. Others would require a reinstall. Of the plugins I have, I'd say that nearly half require a reinstall, but I have a lot of VIs.

If it were me, I'd never want to take the risk. It might seem like a lengthy and laborious task to reinstall, but once you start it flies by. I've had to do this MANY times.
