I don't understand how The Glue can be THAT close to the hardware.
Thanks!! Great to hear you -get- the range knob and just how much versatility it offers, I really feel it's the most important innovation I've made to the compressor design. A high pass filter and mix knob are pretty trivial to add although useful, as are the extra times. These examples used the range at -80 dB so as to match the hardware as close as possible.

I've had The Glue since pretty much day one, and never really used it to full effect until now. Just blew me away on a lead vocal paired up with a Nebula AlexB console. The image is so much thicker and more "holographic" than I was able to achieve with my arsenal of other plugin comps. Freakin sweet, Andy.

I'll second that SSL channel strip idea...maybe with a gate and deesser...hmmm...

(or an LA2A maybe )

I've been trying the demo and whilst I think that this compressor is great, I don't find it brings much more to the table that I can get with the free Density mkII compressor or Stillwells Bombardier!!??

I don't know i simply could not dial that "snap" and "weight" in any of these yet this is so easy to get with The Glue.

After intensive testing of over 20 different famous native plug-in compressors I'm certain that The Glue is THE BEST plug-in comp I've come across.

Sound: 10/10
Versatility: 9/10
Appearance: 9.5/10
Value: 10/10

Bravo & Thanks Cytomics!

Working flat out on it now. I spent extra time investigating and testing some updates to the algorithms, especially getting the attack much closer to the analog version. So sorry for the delay, but I hope the wait will be worth it. I have finally made large inroads into the whole "digital attacks sound duller than analog" problem, and I'm balancing this change with keeping the settings as similar as possible in peoples projects.

Maybe add an 'Analogue' button to engage the new attack algos, keeping previous sessions intact?

Still very much in love with this compressor.

Judging by the way it already sounds I think it's worth waiting for.

i simply love THE GLUE

.) the sound is amazing
.) the little gui not covering the whole screen
.) the wet knob
.) the range knob
.) HP Filter
.) usable presets

i only miss

.) a chance to type in values for all knobs
that update (with better attack behavior) will even make it better

Well the plugin already is in "analogue" mode all the time, this is just an improvement that matches a bit better. I also like not having too many options to confuse people with, I would rather it sounded good for everyone by default without having to enable extra settings.

I'll release v1.0.16 as a "beta" so everyone can try it out and let me know if there are any problems with the subtle improvement.

I agree 100%. Getting a good sound quickley and easy is what's important, IMHO.

Yeah, you're probably right, scratch that. FWIW, I consider The Glue a very user friendly and non-intimidating tool; very easy to get into, yet the sound sculpting abilities on offer are surprisingly extensive thanks to the Range and Mix knobs.

Top notch!

I'm on Cubase 5 and I was wondering if there's a way to get the presets to show up in the preset list? I can't seem to figure it out, usually there's a drop down that converts the presets and then they show up. Thanks

cubase preset management SUCKS BIG BIG TIME!

im workin here with C 4.5.2
its a shame!

this was even better in cubase sx

it would be cool for the glue to switch presets with one click,
not to have click load, open the default folder etc

I think it may be a limitation of the juce framework, but i'm not sure on that.

If I were to have one feature request for the Glue, it would be a variable stereo link. Like in the sub-menus for Voxengo plugs.

In some cases, having 90-95% stereo link makes it sound wider than 100% without getting too much weirdness in the image.
