Beautiful, thanks. I'm running a couple of tests with the UAD 4K this weekend, but am already about 98% sure I'm going with The Glue (if not both).

i think the initial demo with the noise wasnt a good idea

thanks to UAD 4K i downloaded the latest demo to compare them
and liked it better than the UAD,while i was honestly speaking disappointed from the initial release

the complaints about the stereo image were true on the very first demo i tested but not at the latest
just wanted to point at it because there could be more early testers
out there who didnt like the first release

im happy that i still can rely on my ears because i really was impressed
by your audio examples months before as im now from the plug

Thanks for pointing that out. I agree it was a bad idea to have a demo with noise, so I'm glad you have given it a second go.

Yes. Demos with noise caused Altiverb to lose a sale here.

I bought the Waves IR-1 simply because I couldn't crank Altiverb to hear the reverb tails.

Anyone who would steal a $99 plugin deserves the karma that comes with it.

For real. What the hell is wrong with people?

I'll go one further: anyone who would steal software from a lone, independent software developer deserves the karma that comes with it.

There is a new demo up with an updated algorithm that should please. It's now in line with the SSL 4000 and I've also improved the sound on long attacks. There are also some bug fixes and a resetting of the Trial period for all users for another 2 weeks:

the internal sidechains are different, and maybe the way they attack also

i don't want to have to external sidechain to it. could there be a switch to change the hp knob to be a low shelf boost? so a 6db/oct shelf would be introduced

how high the fq is selected would effectively give variable gain at for example the kk fq
Please try checking it against a hardware SSL compressor instead.

I am truly baffled/surprised the Waves SSl package keeps coming up in this thread. I know this is subjective, but man... it's so bad.

I admit to being curious about the Duende, and I imagine it's a lot more legit, but the Waves? Come on! If you're one of the people like me that had the misfortune of buying it, lick your wounds and move on.

Any chance of getting VST3 for Cubase. It makes sidechaining cake work?

Just tried out v1.0.10 with Cubase5 and WaveLab6 (PC).
All version before worked fine but v1.0.10 only works in WaveLab. In Cubase5 the GUI works but no processing takes place (needle stays at „0“).
There was a minor problem with all versions in WaveLab: When I try to safe a preset WaveLabs internal shortcuts steel the focus so writing of names is always interrupted when you type a character that is used by WaveLab as a shortcut. I think this is probably not a problem of „The Glue“.

Soundwise it is a fine plugin. I'm glad that I bought it when it came out.

For now I will not be doing a Vst 3 version of The Glue. If the situation changes I will let people know, but please only buy The Glue if you are fine with Vst 2.4 only.

I just spoke with someone at Steinberg today at Musikmesse, so it's looking good that I will be accepted into the Steinberg developer programme, which means I will receive all the different flavours of Cubase and Wavelab to test with. The current bugs in Cubase are not major and will be quickly fixed once I have a copy of the host.

I must say Andy that I've been very pleased with my purchase.

The Glue is working flawlessly in Samplitude V10.2 and with the latest beta is sounding even better. It really grabs nicely and doesn't stomp on things too badly unless you really want it to.

Great job!

The Waves is great if you don't mind a collapsed stereo image and a complete erasing of front to back imaging. Other than that it sounds just like an SSL. The Duende is waaaaay better, the channel strip as well.

The new version sounds great Andy. Really stoked about the purchase.

Thanks for quick reply.
Not a big problem. For now version 1.0.09 works fine for me in Cubase and I'm sure you'll find a solution. Just take your time.

I'm totally digging the new version too. I could never bring myself to buying any more waves plugs. Especially the SSL bundle. This is going to be my "go to" ITB bus comp until I buy an Alan Smart C2. heh

Hopefully you should have your build already. My gorgeous wife Emma is processing the payments and sending out builds while I'm away. Please let me know if you have any trouble.
