Ozone 4

Just got this link in my inbox. Looks pretty cool. I actually only ever use the dither, but new mid-side thing might save a bit of time here and there.

I got this yesterday .. I think it's a very strong release from iZotope.
They finally fixed the Harmonic Exciter .. oh boy the old one could make
your ears bleed.

Mid-Side is cool .. some pretty cool features around the multi-banding.

It's worth the $79 upgrade for sure. One of the better linear-phase
EQ's.

One feature of this tool that I think should be eliminated is
the multiband stereo enhancer .. particularly with bands under
500Hz. This makes for some serious stereo image mangling ...
The results can be sonically very confusing.

Oh, the latency is *way* down on 4 .. it seems to be about
half or so.

A pretty cool release.

So solid.
The harmonic enhancer alone is worth it. The warm setting is fantastic.
using MS is terrific. Not the easiest thing for novices, but spectacular once you've grown accustomed. If MS is your bag this will really open up some great tools for you.

The ability for it to LEARN crossovers for your songs is so great.

In some ways this is a very small update. In others it's huge.

All in all a great product, great company too. Trash is fantastic.

The new limiter is stunning (Intelligent II mode). The exciter sounds good now as well. Great work.

If you like the limiter in 3 you'll be impressed by the one in 4. The new intelligent mode is really great, I think.

just had a slight peak at it at a mastering engineers friend place....the limiter is really "wow"...not bad at all!

2 days later had another quick hands on with the Pendulum PL-2.....between those two I can´t think of anything more to have for final limiting (loudness)

....so making it loud is NOT the problem anymore....now again to write that super hit song.....back to my guitarheh

I just upgraded and am really pleased. The limiter was good before, but it is considerably more transparent now.

The eq controls are a lot more user-friendly now that you don't have to toggle between screens as well.

The harmonic exciter feature is totally usable now. I am eager to compare it to some other quasi-analog, warmer-upper type plugs...

How's the processor load compared to O3?

It seems comparable...probably a little better...

I am a little bummed to lose all my presets and starting points in Ozone 3. It seems kind of weird that it is a whole "new" plug-in, rather than an update.
