quick cubase/nuendo question

Hey,

Is there a noticable difference between bouncing down audio "real time" or not????

thanks

Theoretically no, but still 95% of the producers I know (including me) bounce in real time...Not bad to hear bounces as they happen, a few seconds minuties where you are forced to just listen and not tweak some GUI

i'd rather do offline, hearing it in realtime lead to glitches here when regarding larger sessions with large number of channels.

oh, btw - i use a core2xtreme @ 3ghz, so its not cpu-related i guess.

This is probably off topic, but please define "large number of channels"

I have a 3.2GHz P4 and can easily bounce/playback 100 track in 24/96 without glitches....

Do you get glitches on regular playback as well; or just audio mixdown? Maybe check your buffer sizes...

but back to the original topic; according to people more knowledgable than me NONE of these processes are realtime....

Nuendo/Cubase has a feature that can toggle any selected track to input monitoring, which is useful for softsynths but all that's needed is to have this feature enabled and forget to deselect say a minor reverb return and the render "won't sound the same".

Sometimes it really can be the dumb things...
