What's your stable UAD CPU while recording...

Hi there,

I just installed UAD's in my 2 systems at my studio and love 'em!

But when I'm tracking if the card is loaded above 55% it losses sync with the card and I get a mess of out of sync tracks. I have to quit and restart the session. It happens with out doubt until I reduce the cards load.

I was wondering if this is normal and if users could post their own safe CPU loads for tracking.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated if this sounds suspect.

Of course the system style is important :

The system is question is :

- UAD 1 - PCI
- PPC G5 Dual 2.5
- Cubase 4.2
- OS X 10.4.9

My Max CPU is 55% to get no sync drop outs.

Thanks all.

Tk...

Is that a typo? Not sure what you mean when you say "the card loses sync with the card".

My system will let me run the UAD right up to the high nineties, percent-wise, so what you are experiencing is not normal, no.

It's more likely your combination of ppc/OSX version/cubase/uad that is causing the problem.

Hopelessly useless comment I know, sorry

Someone using a similar setup to you should be able to help you out (I'm using SX 2.2 on PC).

Thanks for your help, its good to some CPU % feedback.

It is a typo is meant to explain -

The card looses sync with the plugs/Cubase/OS X.

Now I know its not usual I will email UA about it.

Cheers.

TK.
