eq and compression bundle opinions

I want to buy a package that includes classic eq and compression models. My search has narrowed down to three products. They are Waves (SSL, API, and Mercury bundles), URS compatible package, and Focusrite's Liquid Mix.

I would like to read opinions about sound quality and how well they emulate the real hardware.

Thanks!

liquid mix is closer to what eqs do in real at software land than the others imo
signals got much more focus and tightness on the liquid mix, i was shocked

There are about 4000 threads on those here on G-Slutz.

You might want to consider the UAD stuff and the Abbey Road plugins as well.

The best option, however, is to demo and see what rocks your particular boat.

I would forget about the "how-real-does-it-sound?"-thing and look if these plugins are the right tools for you.

Buy an iLok and test Waves, Abbeyroad and URS and find out, which is the right flavor for your taste..

I liked the Waves SSL/API a lot. The URS CSP is nice too. But if you're looking for saturation you should forget about the inputstages within the CSP and try the new URS saturation plugin instead.

The Abbeyroads-plugins are amazing but a lil' bit special. I would recommend the Brilliance Pack to everybody. The other stuff is great too, but you gotta love the sound. I do.

I would prefer a native solution. But this depends on your system..

"how real does it sound"? this should get no mystic discussion about analog and digital...
take a 100$ EQ, even on cheap converters, dial it in, maybe presonus EQ,
than take any Software EQ...hell awaits
