Mackie d8b question

i was wondering something b/c i over heard a while back that the d8b would only work with 8ch being a controller..
is that true?

we have a nuendo/sonar system and i have a chance to get a d8b for 900 right now. i figure it could be a great controller for hands on mixing vs my tascam fw1884...

old d8b

yeah, only controls 8 as far as I know.
Plus, hard to fix, old software etc.

At least with the Behringer bcf you can chain them together for 24 ch.

D8b is old stuff now. I used one for a while, Hated it.
I'd stay away, unless it was $100. Even then I'd rather go without.
