Call to plug-in developers- Sidechain EQ

I've been looking for a tool that seems (in theory) a simple one to make with today's computing power. I don't have any programing skills myself, so I thought I'd throw an idea out there. Maybe there will be a market for it and someone can design it/sell it.

Basically what I'm looking for is to:
1. Have real time frequency analysis (with a slight look ahead) of the key input
2. To have a corresponding cut in frequency on the signal coming in the input that would be automated by the analysis. Preferably this would follow the amplitude envelope in milliseconds. Clean, transparent digital eq.
3. To be able to adjust the frequency subtraction based on ratio.

While a tool like this may not work for every situation, it'd be a great sound design tool.

Send me a PM when it's on the market

This is different than sidechain compression where the entire signal is effected. In theory, this would perfectly carve out the key frequency and follow the frequency/amplitude envelope in realtime.

I'm imagining it would wrap like paint-on latex.

Sounds like either a Dynamic EQ or a Multiband compressor by your description. Both already exist.

Am I missing something ?

I guess it would close to a dynamic EQ, but instead of manually setting bands of frequency, this would perfectly analyze the incoming key signal frequencies and subtract it from the main signal... infinite bands. The frequency/amount would change in real time based upon the key signal.

But then again, maybe I'm missing something... does this exist?

You should check out Paul Frindle's DSM plug-in.

That is similar to what you're talking about.

TC Dynamic EQ ... maybe also have a look at the EQ in U-hes Filterscape bundle ....

hope that helps

best

the Frindle DSM thing is pretty cool- but he is a cool guy who I have come to expect clever things from....

Hi, Can you not put a EQ behind the side-chain compressor to get that effect?

Thanks everyone. Elevayta - Space Boy turned out to be what I'm looking for. Demo'd it and the results are what I was wanting. Really cool alternative to side chain compression . I see use for both.

I'd love to see what DSM does, but I'm PC based.
