Chorus Plugins?

What do you guys recommend for a chorus plugin? I can't seem to find one that that sounds good. Any ideas?

Some possible ideas (in the context of migrating from Logic to Live) in this thread. Any particular flavor or feature set in mind?

TAL Chorus-LX is a wonderful FREE Juno-inspired chorus plugin. Love it on synths of all kinds. My most used chorus plugin however, is SoundToys EchoBoy. It’s so much more than a delay plugin. It can be a reverb, a dirt box, chorus, doubler, slapback, etc...

Baby Audio Magic Switch is a nice free alternative to the TAL - a little less "effected".

But when a Juno chorus isn't the answer, I turn to Syntorus 2. It’s on sale for $40 or so I think right now.

And since Echoboy was mentioned, I'll also mention Valhalla Delay as being able to do most of what Echoboy does (and vice versa) - only it always costs $50 and has a nice, modern interface.

I think the best Chorus plug-ins are:

1. Eventide Micropitch

https://www.eventideaudio.com/produc...uv3/micropitch

(Two voices of pitch shifting, one from unison to -50 cents, the other from unison to +50 cents, each with up to 2 seconds of delay
Classic stereo-spreading effect
Slapback effects using longer delay times
TONE for fine-tuning the voices to fit perfectly in your mix
PITCH MIX for layering the two voices by setting the balance between each shifted delay
MOD DEPTH and RATE for a chorusing effect on each voice)

2. Eventide Instant Flanger (it can sound like a chorus)

3. The free Acon Multiply.

Syntorus is the only ITB chorus i have liked to date. Still prefer pedals and outboard multi/FX when i can get away with using them

Yeah as previously mentioned, Baby Audio’s Magic Switch is really good... just a slider and it sounds great every time. Arturia’s Dimension D and Juno plugins are great... so is Exponential Audio’s Excalibur.

Yet the Magic Switch and Arturia Juno chorus plugins are free, so they are pretty much a no brainer.

Acon Multiply, any Eventide (quadravox is good), Valhalla Space Modulator...

Special mention for U-He Zebrify, which has awesome chorus/flanger/phaser (not to mention you can use allpass filters modulated by LFO or comb filters in the same way).

As with other effects in software: you either get what everyone uses (and hopefully find the way to tune it for your needs), or get some deep designer’s toolkit and do what you need by yourself. I do love to dig my head into NI Reaktor sometimes, for some unique (yet simple) time-based FX. It is not that hard.
