Fans riot at Metallica concert

Colombian police have used water cannons and tear gas to disperse rioting Metallica fans in Bogota.
Income from live performance......
That's what we're mainly being told will replace income from records.

The incident linked to is isolated, but I believe it will become more common if artists agree to give away their recordings without payment.
Inevitably the focus will shift to the remaining areas of the business that charge a fee.
In other words, if recorded music is allowed to be free, why shouldn't live performance be free also? That's what the consumer, now habituated to having their way on prices, will ask.
