Talking A New Mobile Hits the road...

Hey, All....

I've been away for quite awhile...mind you, even before I tended to lurk more...read on to find out what we've been up to...

Anyhoo...just wanted to pass the word...

There's a new professional mobile on the street. We're very proud to launch the new Click Track Audio mobile.

Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, we intend for this vehicle to primarily serve the Eastern Ontario region, providing a solid solution for these regions that were previously harder to service areas for existing trucks.

Our truck features an acoustic design by studio designer John L. Sayers and was constructed by P.K. Van bodies. From the beginning, we wanted this vehicle to be practical, functional and attactive...after all...we'll be spending quite a few hours in there! Doing it right the first time was a critical factor, which is why P.K. Vans were selected to build the truck. P.K. has a long track record of building mobiles and their work speaks for itself.

The truck itself features 4-point stabilization, the ability to be fully self-powered, and full environmental systems.

As for the critical gear, we're using 2 RADAR V's for primary recorders. Backups are to Tascam DA-78HRs, although that is constantly going through review since they've been discontinued by Tascam. External on-stage preamps feed the recorders directly via the main snake, which in turn feeds the main console, a Yamaha DM-2000. We have full flexibility for multiple forms of redundancy, heeding to the creed of live recording - you only have one chance to get it right!!!

I've attached a couple of pictures, but feel free to take a look at our website, www.clicktrackaudio.ca, for a tonne more pictures and info. A construction pictoral just went up, and pics of a major festival we completed recently are due up in the next few days.! In fact, the debut recording for the truck was for this festival, and, apart from some minor glitches, the truck performed brilliantly. We ended up recording and mixing just under 40 bands in 10 days! Whew!

Thanks for allowing me to wax on about our new "baby" .

Cheers!

Thanks!

I actually just added some more pics of the event itself.

I'll definitely pop by here a bit more to keep everyone updated. As you can see, the past year has been pretty insane getting this thing designed and built. Of course, part of me hopes that things will still be insane so we can pay the bills .

And I do look forward to crossing paths soon...it would be a treat to meet up with you!!!

Many thanks, all!

We were at a tradeshow this past weekend showing off the truck...there was a tonne of interest, and we'll see if it pans out .

The truck has already fulfilled a design requirement...being self-reliant and being able to be ready-to-run in a minimum amount of time...we had power issues at the tradeshow (less-than-competent electricians were hired), so while they stood and scratched their heads, we just powered up the genny and got the rig set up. The other users on the main genny had to wait for hours to start their basic set up, leading to a major panic at whether the show could open on time.

Look forward to more!

Cheers

I just posted a note about IZ Technology in another thread that I wanted to share. IZ is indeed "Where it IZ"!!!

I NEED to emphasize how great the IZ team are w.r.t support. When building our truck, I was planning on purchasing the units through HHB Communications in Toronto, and they had no problems with us contacting IZ directly to discuss all the myriad of details that you think of configuration-wise when buying such a product. Dale Anaka was my contact at IZ and I was simply amazed. Here I was, a person calling out of the blue asking questions on the unit, having not spent a dime with them, and Dale spent at least an hour patiently answering my questions and reviewing many configurations with me.

Fast-forward a year, and a few weeks ago we were showing off our mobile at a Trade show in Toronto. Barry was present and popped by the truck to see how things were going for us. When we mentioned a minor annoyance, Barry rolled up his sleeves and went right to work. He went into debug mode and was testing our configuration to see what the problem was and what could be done. Its rare when a president of a company personally comes to see how your install is going and even more rare to see that same president jump in and debug you problem. Any phone call we place through to the tech support line is handled quickly, and professionally. I've worked with Amjay (sorry if I misspelled your name!) quite a bit and he's also provided us with great service when we need it..even if its something basic that we should've known in the first place!!!

IZ has been absolutely phenominal before, during and after the sale. Their support was a huge consideration for me when spending this amount of money on a product and they have not made me regret the decision at all. In fact, when we can afford it, I've already let my business partner know that when it comes time to increase our recorder capability, RADARs are all I'm going to consider!!!

Cheers,
