So i went for the -10db down k12 and played the slipnot album on bobs honor roll
at my mix position it reads 90dbspl, should it read 83dbspl - also the tom waits comes in at 86dbspl?

totally confused now getting

I,m getting 'overs' on my peak meter for the slipknot album that was recommended as a good loud master - I'm using the TT dynamic meter

if your system & room isn't flat, then a calibration with pink noise at a certain SPL could end up having different SPL when music is played than a flat calibrated system/room would have... if the music has unbalanced power across the spectrum, which basically includes all music.

get the system & room flat first, then your comparisons should be very close to Bob's.

makes sense?
