Hello -
I'm considering buying the Oxford Limiter while it's on sale. It says it requires an iLok Gen2 or Gen3 or an active internet connection. My iLok dongle is older than those. Also, my DAW can be connected to the net but I only do so when needed for authorizing and activating plugs. Otherwise, I keep it disconnected.
Question is:
Is the iLok required to run the Oxford or just to authorize/activate it? I successfully installed and am running my Softube Weiss plugs just by temporarily connecting the DAW to the net and using the iLok Manager to get them up and running but I don't have the actual iLok plugged in.
Will the Ox work in the same way as the Softube plugs?
Thnx for the reply.
I sent in a request to Sonnox and they said that the new Ox Limiter has to have either a Gen 2 or 3 iLok or an active net connection. Since I'm not leaving my DAW connected to the net, I went ahead an ordered a new iLok...
