Large diaphragm condenser for overheads

Hey everyone,
Just looking for opinions/ideas for improvement/ways to make this cheaper. Need to get new overheads, I'm thinking 2 cheapish large diaphram condensers, something like 2 Behringer b1's or 2 mxl 770's or v67's. I only have $100-200 to spend, so any suggestions as above mentioned?

Thanks, mark

The Groove Tubes/Sterling GT55 is a decent budget LDC. They can be had use for about $100.

Take a look at the Wildwood Dreamland - I think Odyssey Pro Sound is having a bit of a promotional sale; slightly more costly than you noted, but excellent for your application. Music Recording Studio Equipment - New, Used, Vintage Pro Audio Recording Equipment

Grab two of these, right now:
MXL MCA SP1 Large Diaphragm Studio Condenser Microphone MCA-SP1

$45 each... great mic for that price. Not going to blow the doors off, but for a cheap Chinese condenser, it doesn't have the brittle highs that they all seem to exhibit (including the Behringer B1/C1s; this crushed the C1 pair I had).

I second the GT 55' itmismthat same mic as the sterling st 55 so either are dool, is use one of each as a pair.

I also had John Bonell change the caps in then, they really sound good, at least to my newbie ears ;-)

For your price range, I'll second these.
