Smile A Good and Cheap Acoustic Guitar/Vocal Microphone.

I've owned a Rode NT1A before and found it extremely pleasant. I am able to get an Audio-Technica AT2020 for cost and have also heard good things. Any other recommendations? Any input would be helpful. Thank you.

AT4040. Great mic, works well on vocals as well! I use it on EVERYTHING. They are like $300 new!

These have good reviews! How would these match up with the Rode NT1A?

I haven't used the n1 but i heard it is really brittle up high. I would do some research on the AT though, they really are sweet mics for the money. I also just saw a mic ad in tape op this month of a $199 condenser Kel HM-2D. It looks and sounds pretty cool!

Plus on the AT4040, esp for vocals. If the question were only guitar/no vocal, I'd suggest the AT 4041-small condenser version of the 40 incredible detail. But for double duty, the AT 4040 or possibly the old CAD e300(V1).

I just might! The research is half the fun.

I heard a couple of CAD 1200 small condenser mics on an acoustic guitar last weekend and they sounded much better than I would have expected. And they are cheap..
