This is not as absurd as it sounds. When I mix a record I will generally do one mix using Mogami cables, then I will redo the cabling on my board and patchbay and switch to Rapco and do a mix, then repeat the process with Monster cables. If the Monster mix has the best balance but not the best clarity, I will sometimes rewire my board with the Mogami cables and recall the Monster mix to see if there is a subtle improvement.

And what do you find?

The more I read on this thread, the less obsessive compulsive I feel! And the more I think my own working methods maybe aren't so bad!

All joking aside, I find the OP's approach fascinating. I'm inclined to believe it's not a troll. What we have here is a person who has a significantly altered perspective on reality. He creates out of thin air new and unheard of processes and methods to achieve his mysterious aim. Perhaps there is something in here from which we can learn.

Someone needs to do a Youtube series on home recordists like this guy. Comedy gold, I tell ya.

Sounds like the Beatles in the late sixties, huh?

Given that we're yet to hear the results, and that the Beatles pushed the technical limits, not over-complicated existing ones, I'd say no...
