I no expert, but based on quite a bit of advice I've heard from other musicians, mac's are the way to go for a bit less effort related recording. It's bad enough I have to wade through these atrocious logic pro manual's. I bought my macbook pro, and switched to mac, based on that collection of input alone. I struggled for years with peecee's for basic home recording, and part of the pc process I learned is the task of making sure every part of your system is as reliable as possible. I know this goes either way, but I feel like the mac is abetter choice because some of the thinking has been taken care of, and you just focus on the audio side of things. I don't want to have to be a computer tech, as well as a amateur engineer, and a musician.

FWIW I switched from Mac Pro Tools to PeeCee Pro Tools le and found it very painless.

I agree it's harder than Mac system 9 was but windoze XP certainly is no harder than Mac system X and it's easier than dealing with the version compatibility issues that every new Apple system upgrade brings.

Hi Bassmutant, my studio setup for a session is as follows:

Turn on the PC, double click to open Nuendo, arm tracks, record. Of course there is note taking etc going on all day, headphone mixes to create etc but the point is...no issues with a PC setup.

My 2.4gHz Intel PC with XP, with an RME Digiface and Nuendo has never once required any extra steps and has never failed me. I'm not a Mac guy, but as solid as this XP has been for me I can't agree with your statement.

Herman Munster (if that is your REAL name...haha), I hope it all works out for you.

if you are going to do band recordings like with drums and all that you will need 16 track and about 2 grand in mic's maybe not that much to start
