Sub 400 $ with lots of inputs and outputs?

I'm looking for a good USB sound card that has just the right bang for the buck. I've been mainly checking out the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra and the ESI ESU 1808. Have anyone tested either of these two sound cards, or do you know of an even better one? My main concern is the I/Os. I need plenty of 'em for a certain live project I'm starting up. Then again, I will also use it to record both at home and at gigs. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

M-AUDIO - Fast Track Ultra - High-speed 8 x 8 USB 2.0 Interface with MX Core DSP Technology
