6J1 preamp kits - mod question

Hello,

I know just about nothing about electronics (other than how to not zap myself) but have decent solder skills.
I built one of those cheap 'buffer' tube preamps from China and kind of love the wonky, lo-fi tube sound. I really suspect it could do something cool to my voice. I'm curious if there's an example of a mod that transforms it into a vocal preamp (I assume it's more complicated than replacing the inputs with XLR's) or if it's even really possible. It seems like it could be a fun project, if it's realistically do-able!

Here's a DIY article building a mic preamp using low plate voltage space-charge tubes: https://www.fivefishaudio.com/blog/a...ed-mic-preamp/ - might be a starting point.

There's also the classic Millet DIY design: http://pmillett.com/micpre.htm

Serious DIY Tube mic amp: http://gyraf.dk/gy_pd/g9/g9pd.htm

500 series Tube hybrid kit: https://www.fivefishstudios.com/500serieskits/vt73/

Another 500 Tube kit: https://www.soundskulptor.com/en/pro...php?prod=MP566

The now vintage TapeOp article to build a vintage tube preamp: https://tapeop.com/tutorials/30/build-tube-mic-pre/

And over in the geekzone here: recommended DIY tube mic preamps?

There's dozens and dozens more DIY tube mic pre schematics out on the net. So many you can spend time squinting at poor scans rather than burning fingers with your iron. ;-)
