Adding more open mics reduces your system gain before feedback.
But using cheap mics will often have poor pickup pattern control, and peaky EQ responses - which won't help you.
I also wonder if you're giving the wireless mics to the less able performers, who are off the mic and requiring more signal gain.

Does the Behringer FBQ2496 work for this? Would it help a lot?
Nope. Don't waste your money.

Ultimately I think I'd be okay with one wired/one wireless mic, so it doesn't have to be two wireless, one cable is somewhat manageable.
Either buy a decent wireless mic, or save your money and get much better results from wired mics.
And don't forget, you're trying to make a hostile environment deliver. Don't expect miracles.

Er, gain is gain, wherever it's applied.
If it was an analog RF system, then it would likely be the compander contributing to the problem, but digital systems tend to be more linear. Though no knowing how this cheapo system actually behaves.
