transformer transformer transforms forms

how I got here:

I can't figure out how to use two condenser microphones to convert a mono analog signal into frames.

im using

a (John Doe) 2 terminal inverter transformer, from my 'ol ol wall socket
to
Neumann u87 ti, tlm 103, workhorse powered 500 series chassis, Neve 1073lb, Neve 1073lbeq, and an apogee element interface
mogami 10 foot cables

my space

4 inch thick (4-6, hard to quantify) solid concrete walls (sounds awesome)

I used to use a beringer tube pre, that of which I had changed out the tube for something else with gold pinout and balanced triode [endpoints], I would dial the knob in around 0-1% gain (powered by a lithum ion generator) and it made me re-evaluate the purity of my raw source.

I would like to know why:

tubes have 8 pins (or so), yet there's only one filament to feed, something like 3.3v?

using a crt display as an oscilloscope

for any unix people

how do you write a pipe to talk to the frame buffer? where in the address space is the thunderbolt (or whathaveyou) controller?
I ask because I would like to sample at > 192khz using a capillary laser thing
