I have a PCM 42 that is in mint condition and am looking at picking up another one. This new unit has distortion issues on the delay output. Is there anyone around still servicing these units? I had heard that if the Lexi chip is going out in these boxes that the thing basically turns into a nice paper weight. Any truth to this?
Yes, Beamish all the way!!!
Don't be squeamish about shipping it to Beamish.
Bump for Beamish Electronics. I work for a major touring audio provider in Cleveland Ohio and his shop is up the street from my home. We send outboard and Midas consoles to him whenever there is a need. A true professional.
Hi,
For about twenty years, through the 80-s and 90's, I was the Lexicon warranty service center for western Canada.
I still own a lot of Lex gear ( best verbs and delays, IMHO) and am considering getting back into the proaudio service biz. I still have a good collection of NOS lexicon parts and manuals. I get stuff shipped to me from all over the world, these days. Shipping is about the same cost into Canada as across the US, if you're smart about the customs doc's......easy.
I would be happy to have a look at your unit if this is still a current situation.
Drop me a line if so.
Cheers,
