No way the pair of 251's was vintage. If they were then the person selling did not know what they had. The very few vintage 251 sales I have found have been $25k and upwards.
The difference between our vintage and clone are big enough that they won't work as a pair. The vintage has more bass and mids. More articulation around the mids area. The clone has more highs but almost to a fault. The vintage highs are more solid, less spitty. The clone usually needs de essing whereas the vintage highs are perfect to my ears.

They were OG legit. It was over 10 years ago and I believe the seller was Mike from Wunder.

Ben S. messaged me to expect a Beesneez BU67 arrival within a few days.

A very cool feature is that it has a "67/269" switch.
I've dreamt of a 67 or 269 type, for some time.

Right now it's just for evaluation.
Partly as I recently returned out of the hospital, which I was upfront about...

After Ben nicely surprised me with asking me, if I'd to try it. (Like I'd say "No" )
But I expect it'll be a nice savings goal.

It’s an ML-219 cardioid ribbon mic, not to be confused with the MK-219 condenser mic. The ML-219 is identical to the ML-19 except for an extra layer of blast protection. I use it for recording hand-held vocals in the control room with the monitors cranked up, amongst other things.

Thanks! I tried looking it up before asking.
Because I wondered about it being a Ribbon.
But didn't find anything right away.

Putting this list together, I realize I've got more than I need for what I do. I could probably get rid of my least used third of mics and not adversely impact anything I do.

OTOH -- I still want just one or two more mics - I might want to add a good tube or two maybe (Flea 47 or something like that) Mics are just so darned collectable!

I know, I so wish I'd bought them, they looked like new and had been lovingly looked after. I actually thought they were expensive at the time though.

We own quite some mics but we have an advice for beginners:

Get a AEA N22 Ribbon, a Mojave Audio MA-201 fet and a SM 57, that´s all you need to get started. Just recorded a drumkit with some kind of recorderman 201 Kick, N22 OH and SM 57 from right over the shoulder. Quite nice and punchy with a fat kick. MA-201 and 57 on guitars and bass, MA-201 to sing.
