480L Trouble

Hello Everyone!
(I'm from France so excuse my poor English writing...)

I have noticed a problem on my 480L.
I can turn it on and it works very well, except that it's reinitialising after a little period of using: that cut the sound for a few seconds...
Does anyone has an idea of how I could fix this?

Thanks !

I don't know a quick solution but I had mine repaired by the guys who build the vertigo compressor in Munich....
They could help...

That could be a solution...If I don't find any advises to help do it on my own, I'll try that one: thanks!

That kind of sounds like he relays are clicking over, this can happen if the right amount of voltage is not reaching the unit, though once the current rush is accepted, things work, might want to check the power supply.

Yeap.......RTFM in all forms is kinda of a "Mantra" for everything I've owned or thought of owning regarding Audio Equipment from Synths to FX to Mic's to Comp's and Consoles etc.
Any idea what's causing those 480L clicks yet?

Here is the discussion with Doug Jane concerning my trouble with my 480L: I don't have enough time at the moment to test anything....
(1st mail)
If both units are doing this and the LARC reboots,
then it would indicate to me two possibilities.
1/ The Lexicon power supply is dropping out briefly.
2/ Your mains supply is dropping out briefly.
I suspect it is 2/ because the LARC gets a.c. from the mainframe, and
therefore it indicates the a.c. is dropping out briefly.
Is your mains power reliable?
If you have a computer, does it do the same thing?
How many times a day does it happen?
Is the Lexicon set to the right input mains voltage?
Regards,
(answer)
I'm not sure about my main power reliability.
But I can tell that all the gears around my desk and the computer are plugged to the same circuit and I don't see anything suspect like on the 480L.
The phenomenon is happening about 1time/40 min...There are some days when it does more oftenly.
The voltage setting is right....
(2nd mail)
The other possibility is that the main 5 volt supply is running slightly
low and the processor reset is tripping.
Or the /PF line is misadjusted. There is a pot in the power supply which
adjusts the /PF signal.
Look around U10 on the main board, you need to take the top lid off to
get access to it.
See section 3.2.3 in the manual.
