My favorite all around compressor is the Cranesong STC-8 which I had to sell and was saving to acquire again one day, but if the Elysia Xpressor is in that league for a fraction of the cost, I might try to get a demo unit to try out. No dual mono operation is a drag, but I suppose I could still track a solo vocal through it, right? One of the best things about the STC-8 was its transparency on classical music, and worked fantastically well on percussion tracking. I wonder if I'd be happy with the Xpressor.

We don't have a Cranesong STC-8 so cannot say, I will say I have always loved Dave's work. i bet the Cranesong STC-8 is a smoking comp: )

One of the things I love about the xpressor, is just how transparent it can be.
