Hi All You GearSlutz Whatsup
I'm really curious about your opinion on the: Wiess Ds1 MK3
1-This piece of equipment really give good results for 2-bus compression ??
2-Is it still on 2012 (digital unit) better than the plugins that we have now ???
3-Is it still give's a good fight to analog compressors at his outrageous price tag ???

You might get more answers posting this question in the mastering forum.

Simple answer... yes. I use this piece everyday to do the majority of the heavy lifting when it comes to compression, limiting and de-essing. Still beats out all the plug-ins I keep trying it against and most of the analog boxes as well.

It has THE MOST useful de-esser on the planet. For that feature alone I would have paid the "outrageous price tag". (especially in this high endy, shreddy mix environment we have today)

It is a deep box and take years to really learn all the power that is held within this one unit. Especially with it's built in M/S capabilities.

Is it a "necessary" piece for tracking and mixing, not really... but I'd hate to do mastering without one!

Hope that helps.
