Audient Sumo or SPL Mixdream Summing?

If anyone has had chance to compare the two please post your opinions on which is the better unit. I don't want this to turn into a discussion about the pros and cons of analog summing, just the distinctions between the two units please.

The Sumo has a built-in mix bus compressor... That counts for something.

How about the A/D converter card?

Anyone care to compare this to other decent A/D converters such as Apogee, Lynx, Mytek and Lucid

Do you just want to use it as a summing device, or do you want to use it as a converter as well?

Anybody here with an Audient Sumo ???

I currently own a Dangerous 2 bus and am very happy with it , but i will gladly sell it for the features the Sumo has to offer.......

This seems to cover a lot of ground ....

If there is anybody here that owns it and would like to share their impressions on the sound , A/D convertor , compressor etc , feel free to let us know.

Thanks in advance

I tried both and kept Mixdream. But Sumo is OK in clean summing, as well.
Mixdream just had slightly more of character I looked for from clean summing.
Mixdream limiter is not useful and I like insert switches.
Although very often similar to some, OTB mixes with clean summing boxes are more often than not better sounding than ITB mixes. It's not only question of colour. For such task Mixdream exceels.

Gyang,

Is there any box you haven't tried ? heh

Did you have the Sumo version with the convertor ? If so what is the convertor like ? I ask this because this would make a great connection to something like the Alesis Masterlink which i own .

Hi guys.
I need some audio tests on: Audient Sumo.
In several posts I found comparison links between sumo and other Summing; but the listening links have expired ...?
If any of you still have them, could you post them again?

Many thanks
