which mic next after VMA and U87

I mainly work with Neumann U87ai and Brauner VMA, although I prefer 90% the VMA over the Neumann.

I am now looking for a next mic to increase my flexibility. In general I prefer intimitate and larger than life sound over 100% neutral sound.
I listened to a lot of sound samples in the forum or on CD and I usually liked the sound of the old C12 very much.
Application is mainly vocal (male+ female) and acc.guitar.

I am however not a big fan of collecting old (vintage) gear. I prefer even a new or almost new clone if it sounds as good.

Any idea / recommendation / experience ?

Beside some others more costlier options, I really dig all of following mics for nice, big vocals

Blue Bottle
Wagner
Korby 251, U67
Wunder

Try an innerTUBE mod on the 87. For me it turned a paper weight into one of my favorite mics.

I'll try and post a guide track that is acoustic and vocals recorded with a single mic (tube 87) tonite to give you a listen.

Ok here you go. No processing on these, except there was some tracking compression. It was a single mic run through a TG Channel MKII. So there's a bit of color there, but you can still hear what the mic's character is like.
