i have an apogee ad16x & da 16x and im having promlems getting no or little latency monitor when tracking. i am using cubase sx3 on a pc . when using firemix there is no signal unless i press the monitor button on the track mixer in cubase.

can i use firemix as a stand alone monitor mixer for tracking or is there other software i need.

i tried changeing buffer settings in the apogee controll panel but then i get clicks.i dont have a console before the ad16x just a gml pre amp.i need software for monitoring a direct signal to headphones .

I'm bumping this thread because I am having a very similar issue.

I have a rosetta 800 with an X-400 FW card. running on a mac and nuendo3.
I am running it through an analog console as well.
I can't seem to get the firemix working properly. still getting major latency in record moitor mode.
All the signals seem to working fine on all the gear, and it works fine until i am recording while playing back tracks.

I need to get zero or damn close to zero latency. if not the firemix, then what else can I do to accomplish this?

Also, for some reason the box marked for direct monitoring in Nuendo is grayed out and can't be checked. Could this be the problem?
