What would you get/suggestions?

Just to make the demo's im about to do more complecated and choices even greater

Just for fun... your taste and needs may vary but how about something like this...

2x Lucid ADA 8824's (used around $950 each)
Great River MP-2NV (around $2100)
Gefell UMT-70 (around $1500)
Truth Audio TA-1P's (around $1500?)
Used Yamaha PM-2000 or Midas Venice ($1500-$5000)
Great River EQ-2NV (around $2700)
Drawmer 1968 (around $2100)

Just one of the bazillion ways you could go...
Best to ya,
Joshua

I am in a very similar situation.

I really only need 8in, 16 out but am going to go with the Lynx Aurora16 clocked by a Big Ben.

I am still debating the lunchbox vs. channel strip for my pre's.

For compression I am probably going to go with 2 distressors, mc77, and smart c-2.

This is all based on a summing solution of course. There is still the option to go with the modular API or Tonelux...

Your compressor selection is very similiar to mine. Pair of distressors, MC77, and the C2. I also have on the way a Focusrite Red 3, and a Tube Tech LCA2B to go along with my Chandler TG1.

i'm split between the dangerous 2bus and the api system.
clean vs. colored.

do i want to use my pre's and compressors for color and mix that cleanly thru the dangerous or get the api color at the end regardless of input choices?

i would like to decide soon and get this stuff ordered! any ideas?!?!

I really want 16ch from my mac and 8 more for external sources.

Looking at the nicerizer 16 but would need a submixer aswell..

I could go with an API 24ch setup (3xapi 8200 and 1x api 7800) ££££

and then I start dreaming and look at the 24ch summing mixer ££££££££££££££££

Don't have that much outboard to impart colour on everything (if I wanted to) so the dangerous isnt for me.

Any other options....

You should look into the Tonelux stuff as well.

2 Folcroms in combination with an API 3124MB+ would give you 32 channels of summing and 4 very nice pre's....

Does anybody work this way?

i haven't heard the tonelux but it looks amazing. the flexibility looks great. it's definitely pricey, but that can be justified of course, haha.
