Hello, I have a client with 2" 24 track reels that need to be transfered to Wav format.

I'm looking for a studio that has at least 24 analog ins so we can do this in one pass.
He also needs Adat transfers to wav.
I can get this done, but if we can do it all in one shot, great!

I'm in Bloomington and can do the transfer if no one closer can.

BTW you recorded me and my brother about a million years ago when you had a 1/2" 8-track in the basement of a Podietry clinic.

Try CRC...they have quality maintained equipment and will deliver a profession product.

Keyclub, Soma, Electrical. Maybe Soundlab.
E-mail the cats at Flameshovel, I believe they got some contacts for small
analog/digital studios. Seriously, walk into the "pro audio"/keyboard department
at the Sam Ash in Villa Park (main/roosevelt, I believe), you'd be surprised to find out what a couple of the random employees
own at home (specific to this Sam Ash only, and I wish I remembered specific names).

And, seriously, don't be afraid to contact CRC. If the material is short, you could
book a four hour session in the wee hours of the morning, name a price, see what happens. You'll need a couple hours to let the Tape machine "normal out" after calibrating it.

Also, most any mid to small-level studio in Chicago, won't be booked out.
Contact someone, tell them what you need to do, tell them you won't need a house engineer; chances are, you'll be able to sway them down on the price scale.

You're right, Chicago engineers do need some money coming in.
Better to have a cheap booking then an empty studio.

I always suspected that you midwest guys were nicer to your equipment than us west coast guys. Around here, after the swabbing and demagging, my 2" machine just gets tucked in with a quick pat on the head. If it hears how good the machines are treated back there, I can only guess what kind of demands it may have in the future.
