Anyone using logic?

I have a PT rig, and frankly have never used Logic.. I am getting reeal interested for some reason latley. It looks way cool and I like the potential for the new OSX version. Please understand, I am no where neat a switch, and I generally make it a rule to not get in on Version 1.. just an info hunt so far.

Any opinions here ?

Steve

logic is HUGE in the UK / Europe. It is THE pro standard here in the UK if you have much to do with Midi

I dont because I am a Midiot, (use none at all) and my Pro Control doesn't work with it.

Logic is a VERY cool front end soft for any kind of DAW. And mixing features since Version 5 have become decent to.

If you're into heavy midi programming .... go for it .... for audio editing and mixing I still prefer PT soft.

I use mine mainly for score printing these days .... export midifiles from PT into Logic .... and print the scores. Logic is a great score editor too ... people tend to forget that. sure there is Finale but Logic can do almost anything with a score too.

I've used Logic since its inception on the Atari. I actually did some support work for them also. For Midi it doesn't get any better. For audio I still prefer Pro Tools. I normally run them both together. Logic comes with a steep learning curve and i mean steep. Its not for the faint at heart, but to me its a necessary tool in my production. I have to put it as the number one thing I couldn't do without in the studio, with the exception of electricity.yuktyy

I used DP for nine years up until this past spring when Logic 5 was released. There's no going back for me, baby! I'm totally sold on its speed, automation, power in the MIDI department, audio capabilities, not to mention I can just about leave my tibook booted into OSX now! It's rock solid, almost never crashes, and if you're running PT, get the TDM-ESB which allows you to run TDM & VST/Logic plug-ins simultaneously.

Cheers,

Don

i love logic

i love logic front end
i prefer it for audio as well ...
i did try the pro tools software but it made my brain hurt
(thats not hard) so i went back to logic
its fast and simple...it uses little pictures where it can
even my drummer can use it
the set up can be a bit bambooozlin but when its up and running its the bomb
+ also now apple have bought the company we await
an all in one blue solution so we can cock a hoot at digi
