RB, I know this is a freaking old thread that the guy ahead of me dug up, but since your original request is much closer to realization, you can now check out a direct comparison, although the preamp body is now available for the 012, which IMO is much closer to the Gefell's. I was impressed enough to order 2 immediately, and you well know the Gefell is my desert island mic.....

Comparison clips with the Gefell on Vox and AcGt here. You might want to download and do an RMS match as the levels don't match all that great (unless they've fixed them....)

I fought off urges to buy a pair of these yesterday but seeing this thread has me itching to pull the trigger again. And I just bought a second UM70S the other day too.

I wonder what would it take for Michael to make an adapter for the Gefell bodies. Hmmm...
