Jakob,

You might also want to consider a Raindirk console !
As a matter of fact [email protected] has got a really nice LN-3 for sale right now..

- 56 Channels
- 48 Groups b/p
- 2 Master stereo groups
- 8 Aux Send plus 2 Stereo Cues
- Optifile automation
- Optifile keyboard built into fader bay
- Bargraph meters for each channel + 8 masters
- 8 Stereo echo returns
- Extra large patchbay
- P & G faders with additional Optifile status command
- EDAC 90 way connectors for external connections

This will leave you with enough money to buy an arsenal of the best front end available. Maintenance (if needed) is no problem at all 'cause Raindirk is still in business.

btw: I also know somebody who was selling a Trident 80c a while ago. Send me a PM if interested and i'll check it out if it's still for sale..

Nothing wrong with an AMEK. I had one myself once.
I prefer the Galileo to the Rembrandt.

You could fit a couple of Rembrandt channels into the Galileo.

I saw one at http://www.cmlshop.de/secon00/index.html

I don't work for them. Just saw it on their webpage....

My personal choice would be to get a second hand SSL.
But then for that kind of budget you probably need to work on the desk a little bit. A good friend who can give you a hand and has a background in electronics (if you don't have it yourself) won't hurt.

I liked the sound of most AMEK desks. SSL's are a bit fuller sounding and the SSL channel compressor in every channel makes all the difference for me.

I also saw some AMEK's virtually fall apart after 5 years of use and many pots started to crackle etc.

Very important to check everything out before you commit.

I would stay away from Euphonix desks, unless you like the sound of a Wave Q10 eq. But that's a personal thing....
