At the moment I can track 1 or 2 musicians/singers in a realtrap treated room. I can't wait to have the console in a control room tracking several live players.

Can someone explain to an outsider, what is so special about this console?
All the people posting here obviously know nothing about it, since the website of wunder doesn't give any information. So what happened, is this the second coming of christ and I didn't realize it?

The Wunder site contains a fair amount of info on the console. What do you think is missing?

I'm sure the developers got cement shoes in a nice lake after their work was done, so they can't spill the secret. Don't f*** with the Vintage Mafia.

Get schematics. I promise it will help you down the line.

Thanks. I agree. I'm not a tech and i live a distance from the console manufacturer. Naturally someday a 'non-wunder' tech may have to service/fix it. Hopefully Mike will supply more than a 1 page manual.

Radical. I got to play with one a bit at AES in SF. The three mix buss setting was really interesting. I was thinking about this for studio build that has fallen through/ been put on the back burner for now.
Just curious, but what made you go for this console as opposed to say the 24 ch. API console, or the similarly priced SSL that is also a control surface for PT?

Anything that goes beyond what you usually can find on a marketing flyer maybe?

On the other hand Neve didn't even have a website in the 70's

I hope you get to build your studio eventually. I really need to build now to get the best out of this desk. The room is the best gear you can buy.

I didn't get the opportunity to try out consoles. I read a lot about them on the forums. I believe the API is fantastic. I guess i wanted to have something a bit different. At the end of the day they are just tools.

One of the the things that is so fantastic about this console is the simplicity. This is not a do everything route anywhere board like an SSL. This is a simple tracking and mixing board with FLAVOR and one of the most elegant user interfaces I have seen to date. This board does miss a few conveniences but it makes up for what it lacks, with class. Working on this board will make you focus on the all important basics, not the "tricks".

I have to say i'm so impressed with all the goodwill on this forum. I really appreciate all the congrats.

Credit to Mike and Wunder Audio for creating this beauty. The picture doesn't do it justice. I still stare at it in 'wunder'.

I like this console (visually) and by Wunder's heritage from other products I actually know, I believe it should sound fantastic.
If someone could make real world comparison test between 5088 and Wunder it would be fantastic.

That is the most important question that i hope to answer as soon as i can. I'm not sure if other buyers are GS

Maybe a more immediate answer lies here with people who "decided on a Wunder Audio Class, an analog console, and also acquired a Studer 2" machine"

maybe you should get an easier console to learn on like a classic mackie 16x4. and not to mention it has a manual and no loud power supply.

I have used one of those a few times. I studied signal flow etc a few years back.

I would be interested to know if owners of the new 1608 and 5088 etc have a loud PSU.
