Fader Reverse on SSL

Just wondering, I have been using a G+ series SSL now for a few years and have recently found myself at an E series. Just wondering why, when you want to fader swap the console, there is a change between the 'fader Reverse’ on the G series whilst on the E series it says ‘VCA to Monitors’ instead of fader reverse.

Is this just a difference in name, or is there actually something different within the console?

Good question!

On E series consoles you could only get VCA faders. On the G and G+ you could get Moving faders. So when you did a Fader reverse it was not necassarily moving a VCA, so the function was renamed to 'Fader Reverse'.

Same function just renamed.

4000G has plenty of VCA on the 100mm throw faders....And in the master section it was VCA to MON. I'm glad I'm a VR guy, but I still love the G!!! Just don't have the option to work on one all the time.

On a side note you can always flip those PG faders 180 deg. and have the true fader reverse
