New Mic

Hi again...

I'd like to sell my M147 from Neumann, and buy another great vocal mic, 2000-3000 $ MAXIMUM...

I do pop, rock and soul vocals...I can get kinda loud, with a little harsh highs, and dominant in the high mid region...
So the mic should not be too aggresive...but smooth - but not dull...3 dimensional, very pro and "hit-record" sounding...I am a good singer, and the vocals are the most important part in my songs...

Which mic would match? Please help me out...I don't have the money to buy a CM7 or a 47w ...though it doesn't necessarily have to be a 47 kinda sound...

Have you checked the Peluso line out? The 2247LE sounds right up your alley.

thumbsup Maybe just the right mics...
Is there a shootout, or any sound files of the 2247LE/SE or the Lawson?

How much do you think does the 2247 resemble the "real" 47? And even if not, will it yet give me an impressive big high end sound ?

Other mics to check?

Bock 151?
Wunder CM7GT?
Manley Reference Cardiod?

All roughly $3000 and worth including in a shootout.

Got $39.95?

MCA SP-1

PSSL.com ProSound And Stage Lighting - Buy DJ Equipment and Lighting Equipment

I use these all the time and they always amaze me at how well vocals cut without being harsh. They are a pretty good value and low risk.

Cool that there are so many options!
OK:

Could you describe in a few words the tonality of the following:

Peluso 2247 LE:
Wunder CM7gt:
Lawson L47mp:
Pearlman TM-1:

What high end, what mids, what lower mids/bass impression...

most important: which one has the biggest sound of the four, which one has the best non-harsh, vintage, but not dull top end?

I listened to several files...but couldn't find sound examples for each of them...so a comparing description would be helpful before ordering...

thanks a lot,
Ben
