Api a2d v bae 312

Can someone tell me which one would be more beneficial sonically for achieving vocal, guitars and bass over takes along with being used somewhere around the drum kit.

if you don't have good converters the api a2d is a great buy. Also depends on your voice and what mic and your personal preference. As far as only the preamps they are both great just a little different.

Depending on your recording system IE converters, I would think the A2D is adding more to the equation for capturing all the glory of the 312 sound [which seems identical to the BAE 312 to my ear] Its just a bonus that earns big pay back in the long run, as whenever you get more gear you can use the A2D's ADC with it to great results.

YEAHPPP

This 1 time @ bandcamp, I mean, when I had like an extra $1k to spend, I saw a BAE dual 312 unit on ebay for $1,200; rite as I was getting ready to buy it, an API A2D popped up brand new in the box with the mod on it for $1,700... Some kind of way I magically made an extra $700 appear; "felt like dancing
