Yep, i thought they wouldnt work at all in V1.
Actually i just sold a Lee Quintana card to someone in France, was it you by any chance? (Small world if so..)

Im afraid you need not only a Version 2 system card but also new eproms for the main rack unit if you want to upgrade.

yes I'm that guy. Fortunately 62 presets work fine, 24 don't load. During boot, I read that GC-8 system is v1.02 (is that the same as v.1 ?) and R-880 is v2 so maybe that I only need the v2 system card ?

Hmmm not sure man, maybe someone else can chip in with some info.
I was always told that the R880 user cards wouldn't work with version 1 OS?
So anyway, im glad its working for you, perhaps if you upgrade to version 2 the rest will load

I thought that it mainly concerned the R-880 eprom, maybe that my GC-8 system card is a first "upgrade" after v.1 (it is v1.02 and there's a sticker under R88-GC8-1 written "R88OGC802" instead of "V2").
As the eprom in R880, which seems more hard to find, appears to be the right one, it's less difficult (but still expensive) to find the v2 card.

I've just seen your question - m521 as well as m256 should work. I don't know if you can store two preset cards on one card. But it's always a good idea to have spare cards with redundant information on them.

hi..i ve already bought the r880 and...cards.
1 card is not capable to back up 2 cards, even if this card is a m512.
The problem is that r880 can recognise 100 presets only on a card. This way a m512 card has the capacity to back up 2 cards but it is not possible cause 2 cards have more than 100 presets.
