U know ur a 'Rock Dog' when.........

Howdy...

I was doina asessiona ta a mates studio last nite and it has been some time since i carted my gear around somewhere else and i started have flashback premontitions about when i used to do this **** 24/7... so i started intictively turning back into a 'Rock Dog' engineer and started pritoritising like a good one does...So i pose the question.... How do u know ur a 'Rock Dog' engineer?... For me it was the sudden realisation that while i was doing the first take of the drums i better get my priorities straight and makesure that the case of beer that we just bought was ALL in the fridge.... it was then that i had this suddent epihany that it would make a great thread and made me slip instantly back in time.. so lets hear it!!!

PEACE

you sleep under the console , you dont take showers for 14 days straight , you prefer when its dark , your teeth are so yellow even the cars break down - in fact of smoking anything thats available , mr. jack daniels is your best friend , you have long hairs no matter how many , the only intellectual stuff you read beside the bibel are porno magazines , you love riding in a bus with 20 over the edge maniacs ...

i guess that what you call a ROCK DOG

and the most important :

you wear sunglasses all day long

When putting your jacket on a chair is enough to call the room you are in "home".

The question for me is...

When wasn't I a "Rock Dog"?

Or

Will I ever not be a "Rock Dog"?

I'm an artist as well, so I've been more of a road dog. You know....
days of no showers, weeks with no sleep, living off potatoes and koolaid, no hotels, sleeping at stranger's homes, not eating so you can afford strings, sticks, and gas.

"the good ol days"

Ouch....

I may be a Rock and/or Road Dog, but I need my showers, I can deal without baths for weeks.

Weeks with no sleep is a standard thing for me since I was a child. multiple naps is my trick.

Living off potatoes with out meat is a no-no for me. I needs my carcass.

I prefer Arizona Green Tea over Koolaid.

When on the road, hotels are a must! The nicer, the better.

Sleeping in strange homes are fun, sleeping at stranger's homes is not.

I always find the budget to eat...

Does this mean I'm not a Road Dog?

They were still, "the good ol' days"

someone who doesn't know what a road dog is needs to spend some time at roadie.net. my second highly recommended site for all the dudes here, although some of you seem to have some damn comfy studio gigs.

i, on the other hand, still do plenty of live work and submit this list (one of many) from roadie.net, the how to tell if your neighbor is a roadie...
