Oram "Al Schmitt" Pro ChannelEQ. Anybody out there?

Hi folks. Got a bee in my bonnet about EQ at the moment. I have never ever seen anybody comment or even mention this unit in all of my travels. Has any body seen, touched or heard one of these things?

http://www.oram.co.uk/gms.html

From their pedigree I would have expected to at least have seen something...but nope...total zilch!
Pretty serious looking unit....

Also their BEQ Series 4 small format console (a 1997 TEC nominee) - any clues?

Much appreciate any comment

Kind regards
(strictly legal!!!)

Isn't that one brand new? Maybe that's why we haven't heard much yet. God, what a cool looking piece. Do you think it sounds OK?

Wow do I feel ignorant. An engineering buddy of mine in a different city was raving about this unit, and I kept 'correcting' him saying "Orban".

I wonder if this guy has anything to do with Oram scotch...

It's been around for a while. You'd think it would sound OK...these two guys Oram and Al Schmitt have pretty good looking CV's - although Barbera Streisand is a bit too hard core for my tastes.

I've only seen reports on the re-issue S80 Producer Box - all good.

The small format TEC nominated BEQ Series 4 unit - I've been able to find absolutely no reviews or trace of a comment on this thing - strange, you'd think the TEC nomination would leave some trace. Oram's website gives the most sketchiest outline description only.

Hi Renie...How ya doin'?

There are traces alright; you just need to know where to look...

It's a lengthy post but well worth the read.

You ignorant bastard, you just did it again!
The scotch you are reffering to is probably Oban.
Seems like you dont have a cue...

Bad spellers of the world, untie!

That was well worth reading, after some looking around I found another post where Mr Malcolm Toft himself adresses John Orams bold (untrue?) statements: http://groups.google.com/groups?dq=&...nnrp1.deja.com

If you think Behringer have questionable ways of conducting business, would you ever consider buying Oram products... ?

Hmmm....
Well as the incestuous bastard son, father & mother (I'm in touch with my female side) boyfriend and girlfriend (saves on the lunch money) founder of the Wombarra EQ - what a story!
I came across this thread myself after doing another search...
Wow this is better than who shot JR or the Kennedy's telling Marilyn Monroe the real story about UFO's...
Let's deal with that loose bottom end, resurrect Marc Bolan's body, get a DNA sample, create a clone and find the truth of this matter..

Erm the Series 80 producer box did get good reviews - there was a little matter about build quality....
.

Maybe somebody should invent a paramedic EQ?
And Al Schmitt - anybody seen him lately?

Ah the 60's & 70's. if Fletcher is correct about Vox, at the very least perhaps the Ad agency should change it to the "Infant Prodigy of British EQ" (I didn't say that)...So let's move on to something a little less controversial.....

George Bush - The end of British EQ?

**** - I'm outta here!!!
Stedel has never seen this post, deny's ever talking to himself about this, and can no longer be found where he normally hangs out. Suddenly my other post up here "To EQ or not EQ?" seems to be favouring the "not" option for me.

Maybe we can get Al to chime in on this? Never even heard of one.
