March 22nd to march 25th, 2003.

Looks like we have to start organizing the get-together in Amsterdam.

Dave, let me know if you find any great air fares

Ouch! C'mon, I've only done that once - and that was in Munich...

What we learned from that experience is that I'll take one credit card, and my wife takes another. That way, if it happens again, we're not as screwed as we were that time.

Well, I had something over 1000 Marks, and around 1000 US dollars in my wallet, plus credit cards, a drivers license, and all the other crap that you carry in your wallet. And we had 6 more days in Munich, AND we were supposed to change hotels the next day (meaning that we needed to pay for the one we had been staying in, and pay for the one for the last four days of the trip.

I was literally on the telephone to Mastercard in the hotel room, telling them to re-activate the card, while my was down stairs trying to pay the hotel bill. That took a few tries... Then they de-activated it again. Then we went to the hotel would were going to stay at, and from there, called Mastercard back so that we could pay for the other room in advance (explaining the situation with our terrible German was tough, too). Then we went to the money changing place near the train station and did it one more time, to get enough money to finish the trip.

And a couple of weeks after we got home, my wallet came in the mail from a bar in Munich, with all the credit cards and the US dollars intact (the American money was in an inside pocket of the wallet). My best guess is that it fell out of my pocket while we were walking and someone found it, went to the nearest bar and took the German money out, then left the wallet.

It was pretty bad at the time, though- I don't want to do that again.

After the 12 beers, 2 wines, 4 tequillas and 4 flaming zambukas, I thinke we decided the orange juice you also had must have been 'off' and been the cause of your illness...
