CIB vs ISA 430

Has any one used the CIB and the isa 430? If so, how do they
differ?
I had an isa430 for a couple of weeks so I am familiar with the
unit. Never tried the CIB but am interested in how it compares
to the focusrite. Thanks

from all the 'all in one' boxes I compared, avalon / amek / focusrite / manley ... the isa 430 without a doubt was the best overall.

Hey Chris

Just reading about MJ Cole really liking his ISA 430 so did a search, as it's not mentioned much round here. what do you think is special about it?

and have you tried the ISA 220, the cheaper slightly stripped down version?

cheers

Also, check out the api 7600. A great channel strip with a lot of useful features.

I love the CIB and while the compressor is the weak link in the chain IMO, the mic pre has a very detailed, focused, musical quality when compared to the Focusrite Red I have which I think is a real good everyday mic pre but not as clean, fast or clinical as my Neotek MicMax and not as hard and phat as the API 512 or as soft and slow as the 1272.

Agreed. The independently patchable EQ and comp are a plus as well.

CIB has that clean and smooth british sound and nice features at the EQ. Sorry don't know the ISA 430.
I agree absolutely with the API 7600 users. And why not trying the Millennia STT-1?
