A Pedal power supply has gotten high on my list. I've got a few pedals I use on my synths that having a single power supply would be very helpful.

More exciting is I think I will get a Wavestate and/or a Pulsar-23 later in the year. I have to get some other instruments recently acquired more assimilated in how I use them first. I also will have to see how much it costs to get my CS-15 serviced.

PolyBrute and a Wavestate, picked up a Prophet X today. Oh and even though I have a Quantum thinking about the Iridium as its so dope on a Vesa mount.

The Phoenix slams more but the Rockruepel has a mellower character.

New monitors: Neumann KH120 + KH750 w/ MA1 alignment mic looks like a compelling option (I was originally thinking about Focal Solo6 or Adam S2V)
New interface: I want an Apogee Symphony 2x6 or 8x8, but will probably have to settle for a second Element due to funds

I always liked the Thermionic stuff. Never used the Rockruepel, but only heard good things about it. It also seems a little more versatile than the Phoenix. But I figure either way, it can’t go wrong.

A high end microphone is ont list,

gefell umt70s or m92.1s is likely, still a few to try out like a u87ai before deciding.

I've already bought a 14" x 5" Pearl Sensitone Custom Alloy Steel snare and a Yamaha SS740 snare stand. I'm continuing to move away from samples to real instruments. I don't foresee a drum kit though.

The only other thing I'm planning on this year is a Latchlake MicKing 1100 with a spin grip. I'm thinking of a TC M3000, but that's in the "maybe" realm right now.

I need to replace my deck this year, part of my roof, and maybe my patio door and that's not cheap. Think I'm going to sign onto RenoSluts for that discussion

Will mostly save and buy some microphones if I can find nice used prices (Royer 122, 67 reissue, M149).

May sell things instead
I tend to create and produce more than ever with fewer pieces.

Maybe a Moog One Im not really sold on it yet.. Korg minilouge XD
Maybe an Overstayer Modular Channel but I know I don't need one.

I really bought everything I needed and wanted in 2020...

Downsizing on the interface (probably RME ADI-2 PRO FS). A new 500 series rack. Acoustic treatment.

Was thinking maybe a Silver Bullet......

Thinking of buying a small 500 rack with a couple Camden pre's and a couple other TBD pre's with heaps of coloration that saturate nicely.

Also, some open-back headphones to try out.

I feel I've reached saturation point. Unless there are some really revolutionary new studio products on the market I believe I'm done.....

Since 2020 was a spectacular year for my gear, the first half of 2021 requires much less.

From what I know today; 2 Pueblo Sidewinders with minor mods, a Hendyamps Pollock, leaning solid state on the Pollock.

Yeah, we should start a weekly support group, I am thehightenor and I am done with buying pro audio gear

But before I join, I really need a new tube pre for vocals (a Coil CA-70 or Mercury M72) finish my pedal board and then last but not least a Blue Stripe 1176.

Then I'm done to - definitely.

Planned for this year:
- Got a few more acoustic panels to build/install
- Still hunting for the right hardware compressor
- Monitor controller is still on the list
- Possibly a BAX EQ
- Entertaining the thought of upgrading the monitors/amps

A grace m108 should be the last thing I need. Happening this year forsure.

The only other thing on my list is a schoeps cmc6 set. Then I'm really done buying gear. Like done done.

My mid-to-long term plan involves building a combo living/studio space out back that I can eventually hire out for tracking if I still need income after I'm too old to work in my profession anymore... this is obviously going to be a lot more expensive than anything I've done so far.. but should be recoverable if we ever sell the house.. The opportunity cost of not putting that towards retirement is my main financial concern. My house appreciates, but not like the market..

That's still a couple of years out unless I happen to get very lucky... but any additional gear purchases should probably take a back seat to saving for the build, as it is a critical piece of my 'retirement career' plan..

After that it'd be instruments

Hammond B3 w. Leslie
Grand, baby grand or U3 acoustic piano
rhodes
wurlie

.. but we're talking well past 2021 at this point.

Happy MLK!
