Any ATC speaker no matter what the size will be able to produce bass even in a room as small as a closet.

I think the point is how will the listener/speaker location affect the response you hear based on the room dimensions themselves.

A small room would not even affect the lowest bass available from large loudspeakers, in this sense it is more suitable.

Otherwise, if you treat them like furniture, then yes, big room needs big furniture. Small room needs small furniture

Why would it be such a limitation if small room is not supporting the extended bass response provided by full range monitors? And apart from that extension those act mostly like nearfields.

For the same reason you do not listen frequencies below 2kHz with headphones. They can not be supported.
