Shure - a sub is a must. But that goes for almost every midrange speaker if you really want to know whats going on below 80.

I do have the s3a with the sub10, and the detail im getting is just amazing. When closing my eyes, I can place every single instrument in the "landscape", both distance and placement on the "stage". Makes it VERY easy to mix. And I too has discovered that I use much much less eq/comp. when working on these wonderfull speakers.

Agreed. Getting the Sub 10 has made mixing easier for bass heavy material...

And, IMO, those frequencies are almost always the culprit when it comes to mixes not translating - think about it.
