Vintech X73/Great River ME 1NV

Does anybody owns/compared these 2 units? Can you describe difference specially on vocals (flat obviously, cause GR has no eq)? Thanks for your help.

The Vintech has more of a rise in the high mids and top frequencies and more coloration through the midrange as compared to the Great River. The Great River is a bit more like a hybrid sound between a Neve Class A and an API, where the Vintech is IMO very close to the Neve sound only. When the preamps are pushed and the transformers start to saturate, the mids become more pronounced on the Vintech, where the lows become more pronounced on the Great River. Neither one is 'better' than the other, they provide a different set of tools for mostly different uses (or more specifically different tastes) and I've had different luck depending on the singer and the microphone. Needless to say I could record an entire CD entirely with either and be very happy (as long as I get to use my mic locker that is...great mics are essential first and foremost).
