i'm in an age group within which most people show (various amounts of) hearing loss.

if it happens gradually and remains within limits, it doesn't need to become much of an issue (al schmitt clearly doesn't hear that well anymore) - it's recommended to keep levels and exposure reasonable; using analyzer/fft, goniometer and spl meter more often won't hurt either.

if hearing loss results from a sudden damage, trauma, accident, infection etc., i suggest consulting a specialist immediately.
